APICS Operations Management Body of Knowledge Framework Document

If you haven't already done so I would strongly recommend you download the 2nd edition of OMBOK, which was released on December 31, 2009 (Click on link below).  The download is free (for now) and it is filled with a lot of things that you and your customers will find very useful.  The second edition of OMBOK now includes

new features, including two appendices that feature tables illustrating the relevancy of the APICS OMBOK Framework to specific job titles, including supply chain manager and materials manager,
and to industries outside manufacturing, such as distribution, health care, retail, utilities, and hospitality.

Even if you don't use it right away I believe you will have a use for it later and it won't hurt to have it in your files.

APICS MAGAZINE -- APICS.ORG  (Click on the Magazine Cover)

I thought I'd share with all of you my thoughts on the new electronic "live" APICS Magazine which made it's debut on August 1st. We had an opportunity to walk thru it at the BOD meeting in Chicago a couple weeks ago, but I just took the time now to test it out as a user. I really like its ease of use and flexibility. It is now searchable with direct web links. You can now download a page, pages or the entire magazine and store it in your own files. You can send articles to friends or your boss, if you're sharing an idea. You can "click on" the blue bar of an advertisement and go directly to their site. The new "live" version also provides a much needed quicker way for our international members to get their copy.

If you weren't already aware of this I just wanted to bring it to your attention. If you want to try it, just go to our website www.apics.org and click on the magazine cover on the front page and it will take you to it.

What happens in your company from the time you know what product or service you're going to sell requires structural integrity just the same as the building you're sitting in. The sooner you have the solid structure, the sooner you ensure greater profitability, greater customer satisfaction, and greater success. You decide when you want that solid structure in place. Structural Integrity can help you at any stage.
